ONE MAY ASK WHY? Because if someone gives charity, and after continues to tease and showoff to that person again and again, then it is better to give only kind words, and to forgive there faults, instead. And do not remind that individual of his or hers' downfalls and mistakes, and telling them that this is the reason why they are suffering.

Kind words and forgiving of faults are better than Sadaqah (charity) followed by injury. And Allâh is Rich (Free of all wants) and He is Most-Forbearing. (2:263)
