arabic
And if you fear (an enemy), perfrom Salāt (pray) on foot or riding[]. And when you are in safety, offer the Salāt (prayer) in the manner He has taught you, which you knew not (before).

The verse mentioned above refers to Allah telling us that in any condition, regardless if one is in a war, or any other condition, it is a must to perform prayers. Now one can see most of the time, that the enemies are more than the believers in the battle field, but still there is no forgiveness for prayer, because in any condition help comes only through prayer (salah), regardless in the time of peace, or in the time of an emergency, or if someone is sick, or if one is in a financial difficulty. Whoever does not seek help through salah (prayer) from Allah, then he or she is only misguided by Satan.

Asr gives us a time to quit work, and to perform our asr prayer.

Asr prayer is the third prayer of the day, and takes place about an hour and a half before sunset. Or one should follow the local time of there respected cities, which can be attained at any local mosque or Islamic center.

arabic
And perform As-Salāt (Iqāmat-as-Salāt), and give Zakāt, and Irka' (i.e. bow down or submit yourselves with obedience to Allāh) along with ArRaki'ūn.

arabic
O you who believe! Seek help in patience and As-Salāt (the prayer). Truly! Allāh is with As-Sābirin (the patient ones, etc.).

  • If one wants to receive extra benefits, then can perform two optional sunnah, which is found in the traditions of the holy Prophet.

  • And then the obligatory four sets (rak'a), and this prayer is compulsory.

arabic
Guard strictly (five obligatory) AsSalawāt (the prayers) especially the middle Salāt (i.e. the best prayer 'Asr).[] And stand before Allāh with obedience [and do not speak to others during the Salāt (prayers)].

arabic
And if you fear (an enemy), perfrom Salāt (pray) on foot or riding[]. And when you are in safety, offer the Salāt (prayer) in the manner He has taught you, which you knew not (before).

  • In most cases, the time of sunset is the breaking time of the day. Where most people, who are involved in regular daily jobs, regardless in the field or in office work, that is the time to complete one's day, whereby the job of an individual is normally completed.

  • When people want to finish there work, they always push themselves to finish as much as work possible, to not leave work for the next day, everything they like to finish on the same day. And this is pressure and stress on an individual however, because of Asr, which stops any kind of work for a practicing Muslim.

  • And during this time we perform ablution (wudhu), to relax our minds. And while we are in prostration (sajdah), we drain our stress, tensions, and our hyper lifestyles.

  • And when we reach home, or if we already are at home, after performing this prayer, we are fresh and relaxed. And we are ready to meet our families with pleasure, and not with stress or tensions, which will spoil one's evening, because one has to release his tension and stress, because if someone is not practicing, and did not make prostration or ablution the entire day, or does not practice properly, then he or she will release there tensions on there family.

Now one may ask, what benefit is Allah getting when his creature is practicing Islam?

Allah is our creator, and he orders the best for us. And by following his orders he does not benefit, but we as his creations benefit, and we have a peaceful and easy life.
