Or like a rainstorm from the sky, wherein is darkness, thunder, and lightning. They thrust their fingers in their ears to keep out the stunning thunderclap for fear of death. But Allâh ever encompasses the disbelievers (i.e. Allâh will gather them all together). (2:19)

Whenever any natural disasters occurs such as an earthquake, or a hurricane, everyone sympathizes with victims, but those people think that nothing like that would ever happen to them.

If any calamity occurs to those who call themselves Muslims, they would start all kind of Islamic actions, up to the time of the ending of that calamity.  Once the calamity is over they completely forget, and then do not have time to think about their Creator, and Provider.  The entire issue becomes ignored about the problem, and they think it was because of their smartness they solved it. We all have experienced meeting those people who talk about their experiences, and how they broke through their problems, because of their "smartness". But if you ask them during that time who were you seeking help from, and who were you remembering, they would say of course it was Allah. But what has happened to them now, why don't they remember Allah the same way they remembered him during the event of the calamity? Don't they see that after summer it's fall then it's winter and then spring, the graph of our life changes the same way also, sometimes we are financially stable, sometimes we are weak, sometimes healthy, and at other times we are sick, maybe even involved in an accident and becoming handicapped. 

" But Allâh ever encompasses the disbelievers" (i.e. Allâh will gather them all together).

We should always remember that when a calamity is coming, it never tells us in advance.  But if we are connected the way Allah requires us to, praying five times a day, seeking Allah's repentance and mercy, and seeking his help, then inshallah if any calamity befalls us, with the help of Allah, that calamity can change it's direction, instead of touching you, your house, or children.  There would be a shield by the protection of Allah.  If we are not in the protection of Allah, then we are in the control of Satanic attractions, which will show us temporary success, here and there, but the end results are in the ditch.

Make sure, we remember Allah our controller, owner, and provider.  Whoever goes against his will, then he is declaring a war with Allah and his Prophet, Allah has full power, and we are powerless. We should not look at fun, or temporary success and enjoyment through Satanic attractions, and as a result we will never be able to pay the price on the end in the hereafter.
