arabic
And if you fear (an enemy), perfrom Salāt (pray) on foot or riding[]. And when you are in safety, offer the Salāt (prayer) in the manner He has taught you, which you knew not (before).

The verse mentioned above refers to Allah telling us that in any condition, regardless if one is in a war, or any other condition, it is a must to perform prayers. Now one can see most of the time, that the enemies are more than the believers in the battle field, but still there is no forgiveness for prayer, because in any condition help comes only through prayer (salah), regardless in the time of peace, or in the time of an emergency, or if someone is sick, or if one is in a financial difficulty. Whoever does not seek help through salah (prayer) from Allah, then he or she is only misguided by Satan.

Mughrib is the prayer which is performed before the sky turns dark.

Mughrib prayer is the fourth prayer of the day, and takes place about an hour before sunset. Or one can follow the local time of there respected cities, which can be attained at any local mosque or Islamic center.

arabic
And perform As-Salāt (Iqāmat-as-Salāt), and give Zakāt, and Irka' (i.e. bow down or submit yourselves with obedience to Allāh) along with ArRaki'ūn.

arabic
O you who believe! Seek help in patience and As-Salāt (the prayer). Truly! Allāh is with As-Sābirin (the patient ones, etc.)

  • There is an optional two sets (raka') which is according to Prophetic traditions, and only should be read if the congregation did not start.

  • Three sets (raka') which are obligatory (fardh). The first two sets are read with the first chapter of the Qur'an (Surah fatiah) and a chapter (surah) after, and in the last set (rak'a) the first chapter (surah faitah) is only read (click here to view instructions on how to perform the first two sets (rak'a))

  • And after are two sets (rak'a) which are according to Prophetic traditions.

  • The Mughrib prayer gives us a chance in order for our family to get together, before or after supper, according to the routines of that family. Because, after performing this prayer, normally family members would relax, talk, drink tea, mention some hadeeths, and thank Allah about the day. Which allows a family without any attack from Satan, if someone practices regularly, to sit and enjoy with his or hers' family. Which is one's real investment in life, and this can destroy one's peace or if one practices and obeys Allah's law, then can enjoy his evening in a peaceful and calm manner, with full of joy.

  • Or if someone comes from work at the time of Mughrib, before performing his prayer at a mosque, he washes all of his exposed parts which were exposed the entire day to things such as air pollution, and all kinds of bacteria.

Now one may ask, what benefit is Allah getting when his creature is practicing Islam?

Allah is our creator, and he orders the best for us. And by following his orders he does not benefit, but we as his creations benefit, and we have a peaceful and easy life.
