Then, We sent after them, Our Messengers, and We sent 'Isa (Jesus) son of Maryam (Mary), and gave him the Injeel (Gospel). And We ordained in the hearts of those who followed him, compassion and mercy. But the Monasticism which they invented for themselves, We did not prescribe for them, but (they sought it) only to please Allâh therewith, but that they did not observe it with the right observance. So We gave those among them who believed, their (due) reward, but many of them are Fâsiqûn (rebellious, disobedient to Allâh). (57:27) Eid Milad un Nabi is celebrated as a birthday of the Prophet (SAW), and this is done because people claim to do it out of the love of the Prophet (SAW). Why don't we read in the Quran, whoever practices Islam, and then does good work, that work counts. Now lets realize, 23 years of the time of prophecy of the Prophet, did any of his companions celebrate his birthday? Or did they do a Milad. What was there actions? To learn Quran and Sunnah, to apply it in there lives, and to teach others. What kind of love is this? Most of our actions are like a non-Muslim, and we claim that we love the Prophet, and once a year we remember him by celebrating his birthday. Ask yourself, should the Prophet (SAW) not be remembered every second in our life or should he be remembered only once a year? Are we making him like a normal person, what we are doing since to celebrate birthday, which the Prophet (SAW) taught us that our actions should different from the non-believers. We are trying to say that we love the Prophet (SAW) more than his companions, who gave there assets, status, families, and everything in the path of Allah, and with the call of the Prophet (SAW); What is our sacrifice or actions, towards Allah and his Prophet (SAW)? Would the Prophet (SAW) be more happy if we make ourselves more practicing, and we teach our children, and we tell the non-Muslims about Islam? We are making a very big sin to make these innovations, by following culture and customs, which was never done during the period of the Prophet (SAW) which was 23 years. Or it was never done by any of the companions. All of these types of celebrations started at the time of the fall of Muslim Spain, in order to support there generations, Satan put in there mind that if the Christians celebrate the birthday of Jesus, then they should celebrate the birthday of the Prophet (SAW). Who loves to read poetry on the Prophet (SAW), he or she should see how much they know the Quran by meanings, and how much they follow the Sunnah, our time should be put more over there, inshallah. In order to come closer to the Prophet (SAW), in this life and in on the day of Judgment.
